Thomas E. Kossey

Thomas E. Kossey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 89. Mr. Kossey received an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a draftsman for Proctor Silex for 33 years and then at SKF for 10 years. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia for over 50 years, as well as Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Philadelphia, PA. Thomas coached Little League Baseball and basketball and was an avid Phillies fan. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Thomas was a US Army veteran of WW II. He was stationed in the Philippines and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and a Medal for Bravery.   Born in Mont Clair, PA on May 14, 1926, he was a son of the late Alexander and Yolanda (Artimovich) Kossey. He was the husband of the late Anne M. (Weidman) Kossey, who died in 2011. Surviving is his loving family including three sons: Joseph A. Kossey of King of Prussia, Michael R. Kossey of King of Prussia and James R. & Michelle Kossey of Norristown, PA; two daughters, Anne T. Dougherty of Upper Darby, PA and Margaret L. “Peggy” & Michael Galban of King of Prussia, PA; thirteen grandchildren: David Colleen, Steven, Kristen, James, Lauren, Jacqueline, Alyssa, Matthew, Thomas, Meghan, David and Michael; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Andrew Doughterty; five brothers: Rev. Anthony, Theodore, Joseph, Alexander and John Kossey; and six sisters: Irene Wykstra, Martha Evans, Anastasia Cuff, Julia Stim, Peggy Kossey and Berge Serdula.   Relatives and friends are invited to Thomas’ Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10:30 am. His viewing will be Monday from 9:30 to 10:20 am, at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thomas’ memory to Lauren’s Lucky Charms Relay for Life, c/o Peggy Galban, 552 Britton Dr., King of Prussia, PA 19406.
