Thomas V. Salvo, Jr.

At the age of 91, Thomas V. “Dunie” Salvo, Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at his residence in West Norriton, PA. He worked for the railroad out of Abrams Yard in King of Prussia for over 40 years, retiring as a conductor/brakeman. Thomas was a Veteran of the Air National Guard of the United States, after serving on the 148th Fighter-Bomber squadron for 3 years.

Tom was a generous man & always had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren, telling them stories of his past.

He also enjoyed going to The Turf Club to study and bet on the horse races, especially harness racing.

He'd frequently be seen going on his daily walks and sitting in the sun.

Born in Norristown, Pa on June 19, 1931, he was the son of the late Margaret (Ferrari) and Thomas V. Salvo, Sr.

Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 70 years, Dolores “Sissy” (Henning) Salvo; 7 of his children: Thomas Salvo III of Norristown, PA, Diane (Brian) McCleary of Lower Gwynedd, PA, Michael (Miwa) Salvo of Seattle, WA, Lorraine (Dino) Pellegrin of Collegeville, PA, Kenneth Salvo of Norristown, PA, Roger (Stacy) Salvo of Eagleville, PA, and Mark (Alicia) Salvo of Limerick, PA; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren with 3 additional great-grandchildren on the way; 3 brothers: Joseph (Lucia) Salvo, Jerry Salvo, and Vincent Salvo; a sister, Carmella Cantello; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a son, Derek Salvo; 3 brothers: Paul, John, and Anthony Salvo; and a sister, Patricia Salvo.

Thomas’ family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 6:00PM to 7:50PM, with his Prayer Service starting at 8:00PM. Interment will be private.
