Thomas Michael Shine passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. He was 80. Mr. Shine was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He graduated from Upper Merion High School in 1959 and was vice-president of his class. Thomas was instrumental in planning their reunions and monthly class lunches. He has remained great friends with his classmates to this day. He then attended Villanova University. Thomas was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked as a Real Estate Developer as a partner at Pasquale Properties in King of Prussia for over 35 years. Thomas was a founding member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia where he sang in the choir for over 35 years and was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He loved spending time with his family and friends at his vacation home in Ventnor, NJ. Thomas lived the life motto: “God is first, my family is second, and I am third.” Born in Norristown, PA on July 28, 1941, he was a son of the late Russell Thomas and Anne M. (McQuade) Shine. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Dianne K. (MacMaster) Shine; two sons, Michael Edward Shine and John Patrick Shine; and a daughter, Kathleen Kent Shine. Thomas was Pop Pop to four grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth, Jack Edward, Aidan Michael and Patrick Hans. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Godshall. He was a beloved uncle to William Russell Godshall, Robert Michael Godshall (Michaela) and Anne Marie Palumbo, and their children; and a wonderful brother-in-law to John Ramsay MacMaster (Margaret) and Kent MacMaster (Elinor), and their children. The family will receive relatives & friends at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 9 to 10:15 am; his Memorial Mass will start at 10:30 am. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas’ memory to Mother of Divine Providence Church Choir Program, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
