Tina M. Grosick passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York, NY. She was 54. Tina graduated Upper Merion High School, Class of 1980. After graduation she was a manager for Gaudios Craft Center. In 1986, Tina started working for General Electric as a Production Control Specialist. Then as a Lead Logistics Manager for Lockheed Martin, she served as the Launch Site Administrator for the NASA EOS TERRA Satellite at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA in 1999. In 1981, Tina was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which she defeated in 6 months. After being cancer free for 18 years, she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1999 and has since fought various forms. Tina was a strong woman and worked to beat this disease as no other would. Tina sailed as a volunteer on Philadelphia’s tall Ship Gazela where she met her husband, Robert. Together they sailed the replica of the HMS Rose in Atlantic, Carribean and Canadian waters. Tina enjoyed every moment of her life. She loved zebras, travel, sailing, fishing, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting sand from every place she traveled. She participated in an Earthwatch research safari in the summer of 2002, investigating the decline of Grevy Zebras. She made her dream trip to Australia for a month in 2013 with her sister. Born in Melborne, FL on August, 30, 1962, she was the daughter of Priscilla A. (Delach) Grosick and the late Charles D. Grosick, Sr. Surviving is her loving family in addition to her mother; her husband of 18 years, Robert D. Rustchak; siblings, Charles D. (Norma) Grosick, Dorothy A. Grosick, and Michael W. (Jean) Grosick; and many nephews, nieces and other loving family members. Funeral services and inurnment will be private at the request of the family. Remembrance gatherings will be scheduled in New York and Philadelphia in the late spring or early summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tina’s memory to the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild at www.gazela.org
