Trevor O'Mara Downing, 26, of Philadelphia, PA passed away Saturday, July 24th, 2021 suddenly. Trevor was born in Philadelphia on August 3, 1994, a son of Laurie Allan Downing, of Ardmore, PA and Michael Downing, of Hamilton, NJ. Trevor was a 2012 graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School; he went on to graduate from Temple University with a Bachelor’s degree in finance. During high school and college, Trevor worked during the summers at Kohler Farms in Prospectville, where he developed an abiding interest in plant propagation. He was always pleased to gift a specimen to family and friends. After college, Trevor worked his way up to a management position at Dim Sum House Rittenhouse. Among his accomplishments there was spearheading the development of a trial program for kiosk dining in an outdoor Philadelphia location. Trevor loved sports and competition, playing football with the Horsham Hawks Pop Warner team and continuing with lacrosse through high school, playing attack with his brother, on several excellent Hatter teams. After graduation, he continued as a coach for the Hatters lacrosse squad for several years. Gifted with a quick wit, Trevor possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of sports information and he was sought after by friends and family to provide the definitive answer to hundreds (thousands?) of sports questions over the years. He was a potent trivia player. Trevor was the loving son of Michael Downing and Laurie Allan Downing, and the devoted twin brother of Patrick Allan Downing. Dear nephew of Linda Lott (Chuck), Daniel Downing (Barbara), Mary Robinson and Christopher Downing (Karen). He is survived by numerous cousins as well. Trevor will be sorely missed by his many friends, teammates and the players he coached. There will be a memorial service at St Matthew's Episcopal Church, 919 Tennis Ave, Maple Glen, PA 19002 on September 17, 2021 at 11:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends starting at 9:30am. Masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing. Services have been entrusted to the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home and condolences may be made at www.mcgoldrickfh.com
