Troy Marcell Nicholson

Officer Troy Marcell Nicholson, “Tha Cowboy” “Rock”, of the Upper Merion Twp. Police Department passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in Galena, MD. He was 32. Troy attended Daniel-Boone Area High School, received his degrees in Criminal Justice & Sociology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and continued onto the Reading Police Academy. He started his law enforcement career as a Security Officer Supervisor for AlliedBarton, he than later joined the Royersford Borough, Amity Twp. Police Departments and on July 24, 2017, Troy joined the Upper Merion Twp. Police Department. He was a member of the Upper Merion Twp. Police Association and the Montgomery Co. Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 14.

Troy enjoyed football, basketball, playing video games and fitness. He had a passion for exotic cars, racing and bike riding, riding in the Bike MS: City to Shore Ride. Troy loved watching the Food Network and the Weather Channel, being an unofficial storm chaser.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 28, 1991, he was a beloved son of Miranda T. (Johnson) Nicholson and the late Andre H. Nicholson, Sr., and being lucky enough to find extended guidance from William and Janette Radle and John and Michelle Kehoe thru different stages of his life. He was the brother of Andre H. Nicholson and his wife, Rinesha and Kyle Xavier Nicholson; step brother to Brandy Flood and Nathan T.D. Flood and their father, Randy Flood; and numerous other loving friends and family members. Troy married the love of his life, Christi M. Jefferson (Nicholson) on September 27, 2022.

Troy’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, (Rt. 202) PA 19405 on Monday, July 24, 2023, his 6th Anniversary of working with Upper Merion Twp. P.D., from 10:00am to 12:45pm, with his family giving words of remembrance at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Troy’s memory to The Upper Merion Police Safety, Supplies & Equipment Fund, 175 W.
