Vergene G. (Geyer) Buckley

Vergene G. (Geyer) Buckley passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Brandywine Senior Suites in Norristown, PA. She was 93. Mrs. Buckley was a former resident of Jeffersonville, PA. She worked as an executive secretary for the American Baptist Convention Center in King of Prussia, PA. Vergene was a member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church in Eagleville, PA. She was a graduate of Norristown High School, Class of 1935. Born in Fairview Village, PA on April 24, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Alverda (Bergey) Geyer. Surviving is a son, Douglas P. Buckley and his wife, Jaana of Falls Church, VA. Her marriage to the late Harry P. Buckley ended in divorce. She was also preceded in death by her companion of 38 years, Carl N. Schmitt. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Eagleville, PA 19403 on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 10:30am. Vergene's viewing is Wednesday morning from 10 to 10:25am, at the church. Interment in Wentz UCC Cemetery, Worcester, PA.
