Verna M. (Woodside) Cahill

Verna M. (Woodside) Cahill passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Neighborhood VNA Inpatient Hospice in West Chester, PA. She was 69. Mrs. Cahill was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1961. Verna was the former owner of Aunt Onie's Doll Shop in Bridgeport, PA, and she also worked for the Franklin Mint and the former Crayon Shop in King of Prussia. Verna was a former member of St. Isaac Jogues Church in Wayne, PA and a member of the Upper Merion Business and Professional Women. She was a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser for Bobbe's Flock annual basket bingo. Verna was an avid reader of all types of fiction and she was an e-Bay enthusiast. Born in Conshohocken, PA on March 20, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Harold L. and Catherine (Serafin) Woodside. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. "Spike" Cahill, who died in 1997. Surviving is her loving sister, Jean L. Supplee and her husband, Dick, of Coatesville, PA; a brother-in-law, Gordon Lee; an uncle, Leon Nasielski; an aunt, Katherine Serafin; four nephews: John, Daniel, Donnie & Tom; a niece, Tisha; and a beloved great-niece, Caitlin. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie A. Lee; and her step-father, William Fenlon.Verna's Prayer Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:30 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:20 am, at the funeral home.
