Violet L. (Rodenbaugh) Rhoads passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at her residence in West Chester, PA. Violet, enjoyed 95 wonderful years of life and was a vibrant and loving mother, grandmother and great Mom Mom with a heart full of love for family and friends. Violet was a member of the Conshohocken United Methodist Church. She worked in the Quality Control Department for Extracorporeal Medical Specialties, Inc and after retirement, she was a restaurant hostess in the Bethany Beach area. Violet enjoyed reading, 1000-piece puzzles, Search-A-Word books, watching sunsets and traveling. Her greatest love was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born on March 21, 1928 in Conshohocken, PA, she was the youngest child of the late Calvin and Laura (Webster) Rodenbaugh and a sister to 15 siblings that predeceased her. Violet was the wife of the late Otis L. Rhoads, Jr who died in 1995.
She had 3 sons, the late Otis L. (Poot) Rhoads III, Donald O. (Judy) Rhoads of Bridgeport, PA, and Lee A. Rhoads of Millville, DE; a daughter, Karen L. (the late Edward) O’Hara of West Chester, PA; 6 grandchildren: Dawn (Ronnie) Stralkowski, Jennifer (Brent) Lauchle, the late Scott (Alissa) O’Hara, Dyan Rhoads-Smith, Don (Dawn) Rhoads Jr., Kelly (Jeff) Friel; 17 great-grandchildren: Conner, Dylan and Grant Lauchle, Ryan
and Kyle Stralkowski, Braedon, Natalie, and Kaylee O’Hara, Noah and Lila Rhoads, Brynn, Teagan and Logan Friel, Summer and Amber Sanders, Channing Smith and Jonathan Rich; and many other loving family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to Violet’s Viewing at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd, 805 DeKalb St., (Rt. 202) Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9 to 10:50am, with her Funeral Service starting at 11:00am. Interment will be at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens in King of Prussia, PA.
