Virginia "Jean" Guidas

Virginia “Jean” (Damiani) Guidas passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in E. Norriton, PA. She was 85. Mrs. Guidas was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She worked as a cashier for the former A & P in King of Prussia, PA and a crossing guard in Bridgeport. Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport, PA. She was very artistic and creative and enjoyed making ceramics, holiday candles, and homemade candy. Born in Bridgeport, PA on May 9, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Assunta (Marcheggiano) Damiani. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 62 years, Michael J. Guidas; three sons: Michael (Julia) Guidas of Hatfield, PA, John (Joann) Guidas of King of Prussia, PA and Anthony Guidas of Bridgeport, PA; a daughter, Gina (Tim) Mhay of Lafayette Hill, PA; five grandchildren: Michael, David, Brandon, Connor & Gage; a sister, Theresa (Charles) Figaniak of Philadelphia, PA; brother-in-law, John Vuotto; sister-in-law, Lucy Damiani; god-daughter, Susan Deracola; god-son, Louis Damiani; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Nicholas, Joseph, Thomas and Louis; and three sisters: Mary Vuotto, Louise Matozza and Serafina “Fanny” Collins. Jean’s Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
