Emelie Virginia “Ginny” K. (Kratz) Loughlin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at her apartment in King of Prussia, PA. She was 95. Mrs. Loughlin was a resident of King of Prussia for the past 65 years. Ginny began working as a draftsman for Bell Telephone, and was a nursery school teacher for over 20 years, cultivating a creative and nurturing environment for children attending the Holland School, Valley Forge Country Day School, and St. Davids Nursery School. Ginny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norristown, PA. A woman of Faith, Ginny lived her life serving and teaching others. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, volunteered at the WELCOME Lunch at Calvary every Monday, and sewed hundreds of pillow cases for CHOP, nursing home residents, Boy Scouts, and the homeless in Norristown. To share her knowledge and appreciation of nature, Ginny established the “Art in the Park” program at Promised Land State Park, and served as its Director for nearly 40 years. Ginny also enjoyed reading, cooking, playing games, and gathering with family and friends. Born in Audubon, PA on May 20, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence T. and Alice (Haughton) Kratz; and the wife of the late Russell H. Loughlin Sr., who died in 1999. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Russell H. (Dianne) Loughlin Jr. and Kevin C. (Lisa) Loughlin; a daughter, Kim Loughlin Allen (Jaime Santiago); three grandchildren: Shannon (Chris) Nitchie, Kelly (Patrick) Cox and Collin (Lindsey) Allen; six great-grandchildren: Connor Nitchie, Brendan, Kevin and Emelie Cox, and Evan and Ryan Allen; and many other loving family members. She was preceded by three brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 28. Details will be available by mid-April. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ginny’s memory to support one or both of her passion projects.
