Virginia Tetkowski (née Sweet), 93, of Quakertown, PA, formerly of Philadelphia (Tacony), passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, where she had resided for the past eleven years. She was comforted by the compassionate care of her hospice nurse and the loving support of her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank L. Tetkowski, Sr.; her sister, Jean Sweet; her brother, William Sweet; and her sister, Mary Discavage.

She is survived by her children, Frank Jr. (Charlene) of Las Cruces, NM; Steven (Barbara) of Philadelphia, PA, (Steven has recently passed away),  Raymond (Bernadette) of Perkasie, PA; and Dorene (Jeremy) of Quakertown, PA. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was born on January 17, 1933, in Waterloo, NY, to Carlton and Dorothy Sweet (née Twist). She met her future husband, Frank L. Sr. of Philadelphia, while he was stationed at Sampson Air Force Base in Romulus, NY. The two were united in marriage on February 23, 1952.

Together, Virginia and Frank raised their family in Philadelphia. Through years of hard work, dedication, and partnership, Virginia helped build and support her husband's entrepreneurial endeavors. Their family businesses included a small deli in Philadelphia's West Mayfair neighborhood, Frank's Tavern in Bridesburg, and the beloved Tacony neighborhood establishment, Fowl A Sea, on Torresdale Avenue.

Virginia cherished time spent with her family and made countless memories during the many years they spent camping together. She and Frank also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their travel trailer and taking trips to the casino, where video poker was Virginia's favorite pastime. After Frank's passing, Virginia rekindled old friendships through the senior meetings at Vogt Playground.

One of Virginia's greatest joys was being invited to and attending her grandchildren's many activities and special occasions. She loved celebrating their accomplishments, cheering them on, and sharing in the important moments of their lives.

Virginia will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her hardworking spirit, and the many memories she created with the people she loved.
