Virginia Isabella Zorger

Virginia Zorger, 87, of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully early on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Germantown, Philadelphia on December 1, 1937, Virginia was the cherished daughter of the late Jennie (Price) and Charles Affleck. After WWII, the family moved into veterans housing at Northeast Village, where she spent the rest of her school years, graduating from Lincoln High School. After working several years as a key punch operator for Philadelphia Electric, she married Richard Zorger and shared more than 60 years of love and companionship with him.

A dedicated mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Virginia also served as a Democratic committeewoman for years, and later was active at Cornwells Methodist Church, acting as a prayer intercessor and volunteering weekly in the soup kitchen. She was a voracious reader and avid genealogy researcher, compiling an extensive family tree. She enjoyed looking for bargains at yard sales, especially toys for her grandsons when they were young.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, and her daughter Jennifer (Martin), son, Richard (Lisa), grandsons Evan and Erik, sister Gloria (Don), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in passing by her parents, Jennie and Charles.

Virginia’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at her viewing on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hoffmann Meyers Givnish Funeral Home, 1770 Brown Ave., Bensalem, PA 19020. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, honoring her life and legacy. Immediately following the ceremony Virginia will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.
