Virginio Granese passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 77. Mr. Granese was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as a cheese maker for the former Granese Cheese Co. in Norristown, PA. Virginio was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bridgeport, PA and the Holy Saviour Club in Norristown, PA. Born in Montella, Italy on January 3, 1936, he was a son of the late Giovanno and Lucia (Capone) Granese. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 51 years, Carmela (Volpe) Granese; a son, Gianclaudio Granese and his wife, Shelby, of Collegeville, PA; a daughter, Andreina Bruno and her husband, Frank, of Holland, PA; four grandchildren: Alyssa, Richard, Gino and Nicky; a sister, Eleonora Granese and her husband, Salvatore DiNenna, of Montella, Italy; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Pasquale, Ernesto and Gerardo; and 2 sisters, Giuseppina and Lina. Relatives & friends are invited to Virginio's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 10:30 am. His viewing will be Friday from 9 to 10:20 am, at the church. Entombment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery Mausoleum, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginio's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PA.www.bacchifuneralhome.com
