W. Robert (Bob) Deemer, 90, passed away on June 28, 2016, at the Lincoln Specialty Care Center in Vineland, New Jersey. He was a resident there since 2012.. Bob was born in Jeffersonville, PA, on May 5, 1926. He lived there most of his life. He was a graduate of Norristown High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944, served on the heavy cruiser Columbia and was discharged in 1946. He received pre-officer training at Villanova University. He graduated from Ursinus College with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1947. He began working as a draftsman at the McCarter Iron Works in 1947 and retired as vice-president of the McCarter Corporation in 1991. He was an avid golfer and long time member of Plymouth Country Club. Bob enjoyed watching golf on television when he was no longer able to play. Bob married his high school sweetheart Phyllis (Forsyth) Deemer in 1948. He and his deceased wife spent many years doing volunteer work at the former Montgomery Hospital in Norristown. He is survived by his son Brett A. Deemer, daughter Holly D. Rogerson, granddaughters Shelley Blake and Jill Cunningham, and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church in Eagleville, P.A. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the church.
