Walter J. Sterner

Walter Joseph Sterner, 62, of Philadelphia, PA passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Nazareth Hospital, in Philadelphia. Walter was born in Philadelphia on December 1, 1958, to his birth parents, the late Elizabeth and Russell Stiver. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church in Philadelphia, PA 19124. He had proudly served in the U.S. Army, and he was a diehard Eagles and Flyers fan. Walter was the son of his adoptive parents the late Cecilia and Walter Sterner and son in law to the late Camille and Edward Jackowski, husband of Diane (Jackowski) Sterner; the loving father of Jessica Warrington (Bruce), Shane Sterner (Jessica Doxzon) and Matthew Sterner (Kelly Gill). He is also survived by his six Grandchildren: Hailey, Kamryn, Jacob, Conor, Noah and Grace, and he will be dearly missed by many siblings, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 5-7 PM and a religious service at 7 PM both on December 30, 2020 at Hoffmann Funeral Home 1770 Brown Ave. (at Hulmeville Ave.) in Bensalem, PA. Walter will be placed in a Columbarium on Wednesday January 13, 2021 after military honors are rendered at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
