Wanda Kaye Gang Wolf, 1/7/53-1/18/2021 Wanda Kaye Gang Wolf, age 68, of Jenkintown, PA, died peacefully at home on January 18. Wanda was born in Albany, Georgia on January 7th, 1953, to Flora Dolores Tennille. Flora married Clem Gang, who adopted Wanda, and the family moved to Navarre, Ohio, where Wanda grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in the class of 1971. Wanda’s younger siblings were adopted, which gave her an early interest in child and family services. She earned a BA/MA in Psychology from Case Western University, where she met Tom Wolf, her husband of forty-five years. After graduating and marrying, Tom and Wanda moved to Elkins Park, PA, where Wanda earned a second Master's degree in Education from Temple University and began a thirty-year career as a school guidance counselor for a number of schools in the Philadelphia area through CORA Services and later for MAST Charter School. They moved to Jenkintown, PA, where their two daughters were born and raised. Wanda’s passion in life was caring for others. She loved to cook and sew, and she taught her daughters everything she knew. Wanda was a long-time sewing teacher at her local fabric store, Granny’s Sewing Den in Keswick, a shop that she would eventually buy and run for a decade after she retired from education. She made costumes for school and local theater productions, and she crafted the best Halloween costumes this side of Old York Road. Wanda is perhaps best known for her homemade quilts, which she loved gifting to friends and family. Wanda came from a large family, and she extended that love to all she met, whether her daughters’ friends, her students, or the many pets that she couldn’t turn away. Wanda is survived by her husband Tom, daughters Sarah and Samantha, father Clem, sisters Julie, Rose, Beth, and Betsy, brothers Tim and Jerry, grandchildren Tommy, Johnny, and Sammy, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Flora Dolores Gang and half-brother Robert McCollum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27th from 6 to 8 pm at Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home in Jenkintown. A memorial celebration will be held in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Center for Families and Relationships (https://www.cfarcounseling.org/) under the Wolf Memorial Fund.
