Warren “Ted” Baker, 72, passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 15, 2026, after a wonderful life and brief battle with cancer. Born on February 28, 1953, in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, Ted lived a life marked by kindness, humor, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of family, sports, and adventure.
Ted was the beloved husband of Ann Marie Baker (formerly Parks) and a caring father to his daughters Brandi Baker, Kathryn Baker, and Rebecca Smith. He also cherished his role as grandpa “The Brewski” to Devon and Marissa Smith. His family was the heart of his world, and he found great joy in their company throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren “Pete” Baker and Anna Jo Baker.
A man with a fun-loving and adventurous spirit, Ted had a passion for Philadelphia sports that never wavered. Whether cheering on the Eagles or following the Phillies through every season, he remained a loyal fan through thick and thin. He could often be found enjoying a round (whether golf or drinks) with friends or jamming out to Bruce Springsteen. A lover of games and quick wit, Ted rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy—always ready with an answer (or at least a good guess) and a smile.
Traveling brought him great happiness, especially after his retirement from Shoemaker Lumber in Ocean City, NJ in 2019. Whether exploring new states to visit friends and family or revisiting Endless Summer campground in Naples, FL every winter, Ted approached each journey with excitement and an open heart. Although never one to sit still, he also enjoyed working after retirement at Beachcomber Campground in Erma, NJ. But no matter where you met him, his sense of humor was ever-present—he appreciated a good joke and shared laughter freely with everyone around him.
Ted’s warmth touched many lives. Those who knew him will remember his generous nature, his easygoing charm, and the way he made a new friend wherever he went.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him, A part of Ted will live on in the lives of two recipients from the Gift of Life program, for which we are grateful.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday January 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM; both at Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046.
His internment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Glenside, PA.
