William "Bill" Robert Stead

William “Bill” Robert Stead, age 80, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 7, 1946, he was the son of the late William Folwell and Letitia (Gorman) Stead. Bill was a proud member of the Quaker City Yacht Club, Brothers of the Third Wheel, and the Blue Comet Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his loving family including his son, William R. Stead, Jr., and his wife, Barbara; three grandchildren: Mitchell Stead and his partner, Aprilles Darang, Rebecca “Becky” Gift and her husband, Nate, and Virginia “Ginny” Stead; four great-grandchildren: Dawson Gift, Sawyer Gift, Myles McConnon, and Laney McConnon; his partner, Diane Nicholson, and dear friends Joe Nelson and Melissa Shaffner, along with many other family members and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Mary (DePalma) Stead, and his sisters, Jeanne and Geraldine.

Funeral services will be private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to Blue Comet Motorcycle Group, 4042 Mensch Rd, Skippack, 19473.
