William Jervis DeLong Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. He was 80. Mr. DeLong was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Preparatory High School and earned his Bachelor’s from Villanova University. William worked in Production Personnel for the Re-steel Supply Company in Eddystone, PA. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. William was a fan of Villanova basketball and college football, especially Penn State. He loved dogs and hanging out with his family. William served as a US Marine. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 5, 1941, he was a son of the late William J. and Anna (McCarthy) DeLong; and the husband of the late Josephine A. (Avitello) DeLong, who died in 2008. Surviving is his loving family including a son, William J. DeLong, Jr. and his wife, Erin McCool, of Collegeville, PA; a daughter, Sandra A. DeLong and her husband, John Endy, of Bechtelsville, PA; and two grandchildren, William and Emma. Relatives & friends are invited to William’s Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10:30 am; with Eulogy starting at 10:15 am. Masks and social distancing are required. Interment will be private in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, 1733 W Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19130.
