William H. Fowler

William H. Fowler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was 92. Mr. Fowler was a resident of Norristown, PA and was formerly of Northern Cambria, PA. He worked as a mining maintenance instructor for the PA Mine Corp. for 25 years, until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Fowler was a US Marine Corp veteran of WW II, serving from 1942 to 1943. He fought in the Battles of Guadalcanal and the British Solomon Islands, in the South Pacific.Born in Ramey, PA on February 26, 1921, he was a son of the late Lewis and Flora (Miller) Fowler. He was the husband of the late Mary C. (Boggio) Fowler, who died in 2009. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Kevin W. Fowler of New Cumberland, PA; a daughter, Connie Martino and her husband, Joseph Jr., of E. Norriton, PA; three grandchildren: Joseph A. Martino, III and his wife, Amanda, of Trooper, PA, Lacey D. Fowler of New Cumberland, PA and Lance A. Fowler, Pvt. 1st Class, US Army, stationed in Kuwait; a great-grandson, Joshua Martino; a brother, Lewis Fowler and his wife, Joanne, of Kirtland, OH; a sister, Flo Ann Horner of Leesburg, VA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Richard Fowler.
