William Sr. Gallagher

William Gallagher Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 83. Mr. Gallagher was a resident of King of Prussia PA. He worked as a truck driver for the former Fleming Foods in Oaks, PA and as a scalemaster for Valley Forge Inc. Bill was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1946. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. He was a past president and board member of the Upper Merion Senior Center and a past commodore of the Norristown Boat Club. Bill enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan. He liked auto racing and especially his sons Sprint Car Team 5G. Born in King of Prussia, PA on February 28, 1928, he was a son of the late Evan and Hanna (Wagnoer) Gallagher. He was the husband of the late Rose M. (Perone) Gallagher, who died in 2010. Surviving is his loving family including a son, William Gallagher, Jr. and his wife, Esther of King of Prussia, PA; three grandchildren: William G., Joseph and Krystle Gallagher; a sister, Margaret Nagy of Norristown, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gallagher; and two brothers, James and Frank Gallagher.Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi, Pastor. His viewing will be Friday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
