William F. Howat

William F. (Bill) Howat Sr., age 96, of Audubon, PA, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Helen (McMinds) Howat and Frederick M. Howat. He enjoyed a long and accomplished career with Chilton Publishing, where he served as Vice President of Circulation.

Bill was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight at St. Anastasia in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. A proud Korean War Army veteran, he enjoyed the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey, as well as golf, billiards, and travel.

Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores, in 2012. He later found love again with his second wife, Marilyn, with whom he shared 13 wonderful years. He is survived by his children: Mary Kathryn Keuch (Randy), William F. Howat Jr. (Karen), Christopher M. Howat, Jane H. Watson (John), and Elizabeth J. Hatchard (George); his step-children, Mary Beth Opat and John Piatti; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services on Friday, August 21, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Visitation will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. His private burial will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation.
