William M. Keim, IV, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 20th, 2010, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. He was 30. He had been employed as a Mechanical Engineer for the DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware, where he spent time as a member of the engineering staff, as well as traveling overseas as an engineering liaison to customers in Taiwan and Tokyo. Mr. Keim attended Temple University School of Engineering, where he studied from 2002 until he graduated in 2005, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the American Society of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineers, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He graduated from Upper Merion Area Senior High School in 1997. Like his father and grandfather before him, he was enthusiastic about politics, and was actively involved in raising awareness of the political issues affecting the country. He was also an accomplished mechanic and fabricator, skilled in metal fabrication, and any and all matter of automotive repair. Born in Wynnewood, PA on October 13, 1979, he was the beloved son of Margaret R. "Peggy" (Schmitt) Keim of King of Prussia, and the late William M. Keim, III. Also surviving are his maternal grandfather, William Schmitt of King of Prussia; an aunt and uncle, William and Charlene Leis and a cousin, Dayna A. Leis, all of Parksburg, PA; his dog, Dooley; and countless friends who mourn his death. Mr. Keim was always looking to give back and as such was a tissue donor through the Gift of Life Program. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:20, at the funeral home.
