William E. McCabe Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He was 70. Mr. McCabe was a resident of Collegeville, PA. He worked as a salesman for Stroehmann Bakery. William graduated from Temple University with a BS in Psychology. He was a real ‘people person’ who was very generous with his time. William enjoyed the Philly sports teams, playing on bowling leagues, traveling, vacationing at the shore, especially Villas, NJ, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 88. William was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. Born in Norristown, PA on February 15, 1947, he was a son of the late William E. McCabe, Sr. and Helen (Hallman) Erb. Surviving is his loving family including a son, William McCabe and his husband, Carlos Lopez, of Chester Springs, PA; daughter, April Morris of Collegeville, PA and son-in-law, Michael Morris; daughter, Lauren McCabe of Norristown, PA; 11 grandchildren: Michael, Ashleigh, Pete, Cameron, Kayla, Mackenzie, Emily, Joshua, William, Jaden and Aubrey; his loving girlfriend and companion, Maryann Yost; and 2 step-sons, Jason (Michele) Yost and Stephen (Amanda) Yost. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy DuTot and a great-nephew, Josh Michaels. Relatives and friends are invited to William’s Funeral Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202) Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 12 noon. His viewing will be Saturday from 10 am to 11:50 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, West Norriton, PA.
