William F. O'Neill

William F. O’Neill age 85 of West Norriton passed away at home on Saturday, January 31, 2015. Born in Phila. on March 13, 1929 to the late William J. and Susan M. (Toner) O’Neill. He graduated from St. Thomas Moore. He ran in Penn Relays. He was a 1946 state champion in the ¼ mile. He was a scout leader and director of CYO sports in the Norristown area. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila for 57 years. Bill was married to Doris O’Neill who passed away on December 30, 2010. He is survived by 3 sons, William O’Neill, Jr. of West Norriton, Stephen O’Neill (Julia) of Hershey and Gary O’Neill (Renee) of East Norriton; 7 grandchildren, Stacey, Christopher, Lisa, Jamie, Jeremy, Kate and Ryan; and 4 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday, February 6th at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd., Norristown, Pa 19403. Family will receive friends from 9 to 9:50 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
