William S. Phifer

William S. Phifer passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at his home in Bridgeport, PA. He was 74. Mr. Phifer worked as a warehouseman for AT & T in King of Prussia, PA, for 26 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a life member of Bridgeport Fire Co. #1 and a social member of the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Co. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on November 10, 1938, he was a son of the late William H. and Audrey (Crawford) Phifer. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, W. Troy Phifer and his wife, Mary Ellen, of King of Prussia, PA and Wade R. Phifer and his wife, Diana, of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Audrey R. Zelli and her husband, John, of Eagleville, PA; 6 grandchildren: John, Audrey, Ashley, Ashlyn, Tara and Emily; three sisters: Sally of Quakertown, PA, Ellise Clement of Telford, PA and Georgette Hass and her husband, Larry, of the Poconos, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond "Clyde" Phifer. Funeral service date and time will be posted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William's memory to Bridgeport Fire Co. #1, 72 W. Fourth St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
