William Robert Regli, June 24, 1940 - December 15, 2017 Our beloved, generous, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away suddenly on the morning of December 15th at Abington Memorial Hospital. Many would say that Bill was larger than life: his presence filled a room, and he would know everyone at a party within a matter of minutes. His booming voice could often be heard several golf holes away, whether playing at his home clubs of Manufacturers Golf & Country Club in Philadelphia, Jack Frost National in the Poconos, or The Quechee Club in Vermont. He was commonly referred to as "The Mayor" for his gregarious nature and ability to orchestrate social gatherings, "Silver Streak" as he swooshed down the hills skiing, or "Coupon Man" for his mastery in finding a bargain - for his friends even more so than himself. His enormous circle of friends regularly cherished his frequent phone calls, dinner invitations, and group trip planning. He was born in Philadelphia to Katherine ‘Samtmann’ and William Clement Regli on June 24th, 1940. He attended LaSalle College High School, during which time he met the love of his life and wife of 53 years, Joanne Mary Casacio. He served as a Lieutenant and Captain in the US Army during the early 1960s. He spent his life working in the family business as a real estate developer and Chief Financial Officer, side by side with his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, son, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed extensive travel, having visited 81 countries in the course of his life. Bill loved the game of golf, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Flyers, but most of all his large and equally gregarious family. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; three children, William Clement Regli, III, Brian Joseph Regli, and Theresa Anne Regli; daughters-in-law Susan Harkness Regli and Tanya Witte Regli; and grandchildren Gabriel, Andrea, Dominique, and Anthony. Visitation with family from 11-11:40 AM and Funeral Mass at 12 noon will be held at Saint Anthony's Roman Catholic Church at 260 Forest Avenue, in Ambler, on Thursday, December 21, 2017. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bill's name to Ancillae-Assumpta Academy, 2025 Church Rd, Wyncote, PA 19095, or LaSalle College High School, 8605 W Cheltenham Ave, Glenside, PA 19038.
