William F. Ross passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 92. Mr. Ross graduated from Upper Merion High School in 1941 and Penn State in 1949, with a bachelor's degree in Science. He was the owner of the National Paint Center in Lansdale, PA and then worked as a real estate agent for many agencies in the area.Bill was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where he belonged to their Holy Name Society and he worked the annual feast until he was 90 years old. Bill was also a member of the L.A.M.-Valley Forge Lodge 1776 Sons of Italy, where he was a past president, the Bridgeport-Upper Merion Lions Club and the 4 Chaplains. Bill loved politics and was a former Upper Merion Township Supervisor and former head of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County. He was also on the Montgomery Redevelopment Authority.Mr. Ross was a US Army veteran of WW II, where he participated in three major campaigns: The Battle of the Bulge, Central Europe and Rhineland.Born on May 27, 1922, he was a son of the late Frank and Angelina (Santora) Rossi. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, Dorothy J. (Reed) Ross; 2 sons, Gary R. & Sallie Ross of Short Hills, NJ and William L. & Julia Ross of Chicago, Ill; 3 daughters: Linda F. Capetola of Limerick, PA, Jane L. Ross of King of Prussia and Kimberlea A. & Frank Cressman of King of Prussia, PA; 11 grandchildren: Todd, Jennifer, Chad, Shannon, Courtney, Brandon, Karina, Cole, Craig, Katelyn and Lacey; 5 great-grandchildren: Ethan, Wyatt, Garett, Taylor and Tyler. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen "Dottie" Ross; son-in-law, Frank Capetola; daughter-in-law, Linda (Whitmore) Ross; 3 brothers: Leo Ross, Albert Rossi and James Rossi; and 3 sisters: Louise Polichetti, Nancy Tassoni and Emma Rossi.Relatives and friends are invited to Bill's Funeral Mass at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship Site, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 am. His viewing is Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:50 am, at the worship site. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N.
