William Charles Watkinson

William C. Watkinson, (96), of Norristown, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 15, 2023 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Anne and Michael Barkofski.

Born in Hollis, New York, William was the son of the late John Henry and Catherine Anne Watkinson. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne Catherine (Fitzpatrick) Watkinson who died in 2002. He was also preceded in death by his siblings John Henry (Harry) Watkinson, Margery Duffy, Kay Dorff, and Doris Watkinson.

In 1946, William received the World War II Victory Medal after proudly serving in the Army of the United States as a Technician in the Armored Detachment 1802d Special Regiment.

Mr. Watkinson was a sales manager with longtime service at Boss Manufacturing. William and Anne were avid golfers and belonged to Springford Country Club in Royersford, Pennsylvania.

Surviving are his children Catherine (John) Goehringer, Margaret (Thomas) Edwards, Anne (Michael) Barkofski, and Carol (Frank) Pulli. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael Barkofski, Jennifer Barkofski, Stefanie (Matt) Schaffer, Kimberly Edwards, Erika Edwards, Nicholas Pulli, Brooke (Kevin) Sabo, and Jack Goehringer.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N Trooper Rd, Trooper, PA 19403. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA.
