Wilma Audrey Roebuck

February 24, 1929 — March 21, 2023

Wilma Audrey Roebuck (Hagner), 94, died peacefully on March 21. Born in Philadelphia to Julia A. Cary and Herrmann O. Hagner, she married her husband, George G. Roebuck, in 1957. She was a resident of Yardley for more than 50 years.

Wilma was a popular third grade teacher in the Pennsbury School District from 1960 to 1996. Many of her students from throughout the years often contacted her to share their exciting news of a marriage or a baby and also to note their appreciation for her caring ways while teaching them. During her time with the Pennsbury School District, Wilma taught at several elementary schools including Quarry Hill, Makefield, Fallsington and Elenore Roosevelt.

Wilma received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education at Temple University and a master’s in education at Pennsylvania State University. A life-long animal lover, who owned dogs and cats over the years, Wilma was involved in several organizations that protected animals. She also loved the beach and never missed a chance to enjoy the many beaches at the Jersey Shore and in Florida.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Herrmann O. Hagner. Wilma is survived by her daughter Juliane C. Roebuck Nostrand and her husband Dennis, and two granddaughters, Hilary McNamara and Whitney McNamara Silberman. She will be remembered by her family and many friends in the community as someone with a great sense of humor who thought of others before herself and was always ready to lend a hand.

Wilma’s family will celebrate her life privately.
