Wilmer Eckman passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his residence in Limerick, PA. He was 85. Mr. Eckman was a former resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a school bus driver for the Upper Merion Area School District for over 30 years. He was a member of Upper Merion Baptist Church in King of Prussia, PA and a life member of the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Co. Wilmer served in the Army National Guard.Born in E. Norriton, PA on July 4, 1928, he was a son of the late David A. and Eleanor (Hatfield) Eckman. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 49 years, Carol M. (Wier) Eckman; a son, David W. Eckman and his wife, Marie, of Limerick, PA; six grandchildren: Eric, Ashley, Mikayla, Olivia, Stephanie and David; a great-grandson, Michael; a brother, Wilbur Eckman and his wife, Lynne, of Phoenixville, PA; and many nephews & nieces. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen M. Bevan; a granddaughter, Rachael Bevan; five brothers: David, Walter, Elmer, Harold and Harry; and a sister, Martha Wessel. Relatives and friends are invited to Wilmer's Funeral Service at the Upper Merion Baptist Church, 585 General Steuben Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 11:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Kathryn Eagles, Pastor. His viewing will be Thursday morning from 10 to 10:50am, at the church.
