Woodrow "Woody" Silver

Woodrow “Woody” Silver passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia surrounded by his family. Woody was a longtime resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked as a manager for GSK Pharmaceutical Company for 43 years. He was also a proud citizen of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe located in North Carolina. Woody thoroughly enjoyed cooking, especially for his family and he was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.

Born in Silvertown, Halifax County, North Carolina on April 12, 1933, he was a son of the late Norman and Annie R. (Richardson) Silver. Woody was also the beloved husband to Sandra M. (Bucci) Silver, who passed away in 2008.

Surviving is his loving family including 4 sons, Anthony Silver (Alicia), Barry Silver (Teresa), Gordon Silver (Sue), and Chris Silver (Lee); a daughter, Norma Silver-Koperna (Bob); step-son, Shawn P. O’Brien; step-daughter, Erin Gear (Kevin); 9 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; the mother of his children, Leslie; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by five sisters, Mollie, Gerda, Isabelle, Lois, and Collie.

Relatives and friends are invited to Woody’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 10am to 12pm, followed by his funeral service at 12pm. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
