Yolanda M Gestrich

Yolanda M. (nee Skiles) Gestrich age 84 passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Shannondell in Audubon, PA. Better known as Chookie to friends and family, she was born in Pittsburgh to the late James and Anna Skiles. She graduated Shaler High School. Her husband, William, also lived in Shaler Township where they met. She was employed in Pittsburgh by Bell of Pennsylvania, and then later by USF&G. A devoted wife and mother, she raised her family in Allison Park, PA, and served for a number of years as a Parkwood United Presbyterian Church volunteer and choir member. She also held multiple roles in the Hampton School PTA, including as its President. She and Bill moved from Allison Park to West Chester, PA, and then lastly to Audubon. There they were founding residents of Shannondell, and active members of the Paoli Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William, who passed away in June. Yolanda is survived by 2 sons, Richard and his wife Beatrice of Oviedo, FL, and David and his wife Suzanne of Holmdel, NJ; and 1 grandchild, Bryce Gestrich. She was predeceased by her sisters Ann and Helen, and her brother Jim. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation 10-11 am on Wednesday, November 9th at Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Valley Rd., Paoli, Pa 19301 followed by a memorial service at 11a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
